      Dick Danskin BS ’59 writes: “Received my MS degree in counseling from the University of Oregon in 1962. Spent 32 years as a counselor and community service director in Woodland, California, and Salem, Oregon. Retired in 1994. Have three married daughters, five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.”

      Robert M. Ellerby BS ’59, July 8, 2017, age 80. Ellerby worked at Georgia Pacific in Bellingham, Washington, as purchasing manager, from his graduation until 2001. He was an active member of his church and sang in a Norwegian male chorus. He also volunteered for Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and other youth organizations. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Geneva; his children, Kathy, Julie, and Scott; and eight grandchildren.

      Mary Zoe Petersen BS ’59, February 23, 2019, age 81. Petersen was a community organizer, volunteer, and owner of Gresham Optical/Custom Eyes for 30 years. She married Larry Petersen in 1960. The family moved to Seattle for a short while before returning to Gresham, Oregon, in 1975, where she was an involved and recognized member of her community. Survivors include her husband of 58 years; children, Eric and Zoe Ann; three grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends.

      Earl R. Rogness BS ’59, May 8, 2019, age 81. Rogness was successfully self-employed in the insurance industry. Outside of work, he enjoyed training his dogs for field trials, golfing, and fishing. After retiring in 1995, he lived in Neakhanie, Oregon. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Mary; his daughters, Anne and Emily; and one grandson.

      Lynn F. Roumagoux BS ’59, MAT ’69, June 12, 2018, age 81. Roumagoux worked as a high school English teacher, counselor, and track and field coach in Portland and Anchorage, Alaska. A dedicated runner, he mentored many young men and women over his career, inviting the teams to his home for a spaghetti dinner at the end of each season. He met his wife, Donna Russell Roumagoux ’61, at Lewis & Clark, and they were married in 1959. After retiring, the couple learned to square and round dance, eventually teaching the dances together at various festivals around the United States until 1998, when they settled in Mesa, Arizona. Survivors include his wife; children Annette and Brent; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

      Richard L. Watson BS ’59, July 10, 2016, age 79. In 1961, Watson married Sally Hart in Watertown, New York. Survivors include his wife; sons William, Timothy, and Michael; and three grandchildren.

      Gordon W. Yelton BS ’59, March 21, 2016, age 84. Yelton worked for Sears and Roebuck for several years following his graduation. He married Joan Mundigel in 1964. In 1970, with two small children, he moved his family to Bend, Oregon, where they owned and operated a small gift and housewares shop called Things Etc. After retiring, Yelton enjoyed taking care of his yard, visiting with his neighbors, and walking his dogs. Survivors include his wife, Joan; son Mark; and daughter Elizabeth.
