For New Students

Welcome to Lewis & Clark from the College Advising Center!

Your first year at a liberal arts college is an opportunity to learn about fascinating new subjects, delve deeper into areas in which you already hold an interest, and begin exploring Lewis & Clark’s general education curriculum.

As you work through the items on the First-Year and Transfer Student NSO Checklist, the College Advising Center (CAC) is here to help you throughout the lead up to the fall semester, and beyond. Our “For New Students” webpages can answer many of your initial questions about registration, placement exams, and which classes to choose.

All new students have been assigned a College Advisor to help navigate their academic transition to L&C. New First-Year students will primarily work with their College Advisor this summer. New Transfer students will be matched with a Faculty Advisor in the department of their prospective major as their primary advisor, and their College Advisor is here to help, too.

Please contact the College Advising Center with any questions you have about your academic plans and progress: email your advisor in the College Advising Center or make an appointment (not sure who your College Advisor is? Please check your L&C email for a message from their individual CAC advisor in June).
