Pre-Health: How to Get Started
Find Your Pre-Health Pathway
Many pre-health students choose to major in biology, chemistry, or biochemistry. However, you can complete any major - such as psychology, economics, history or studio art - while taking the classes necessary for admission to medical, dental, nursing, public health, and other allied-health programs.
Wherever you’re coming from, there’s a place for you here—and a path to get where you’re going. Here’s how to get started:

- Meet with your pre-health advisor, Carolyn to set up a detailed plan.
- Visit with health professionals and alumni mentors that work in your field of interest. Work with the team at the Center for Community and Global Health to set up informational interviews. Email us!
- Attend the “Intent to Apply” year-long program, coming August, 2021 and the “GRE/MCAT Prep Session” held each fall.
- Try Volunteer opportunities, clinical experience, internships, and community-based learning are all great ways to learn more about your chosen field.
