April 9A lot has been written about the Lewis & Clark Bon Appétit. Some love it, some hate it (ok, maybe more hate it), but do we really have any other option? Well, yes! All we need to do is look to our neighbors at Reed College. They, too, have a Bon Appétit-operated cafeteria.
April 9Vera Chang, the Bon Appétit West Coast Fellow, spoke at “The Story Behind the Food” on Tuesday evening.
- April 30Read to find out what some of Lewis and Clark’s graduating seniors are doing next year, and even share some of the secrets to their success.
- April 23While it may seem as if Portland isn’t the late night type of place, if you look a little closer you will find the city dotted with midnight munchies that will satisfy all of your drunken (or already hung over) needs.
April 16For two minutes, people, cars, everything around the country stops, and sirens blare. This happens annually for Yom HaShoah, or Holocaust Memorial Day, a national holiday in Israel that is also observed by Jews around the world.

Although the restaurant is named after a short-necked Japanese lute, Biwa offers renditions of traditional fare from Korea and China as well as Japan. Nestled on the corner of Stark and 9th in SE Portland, Biwa’s immediate appeal is the warmth that one feels when walking through the front doors.
April 16PioLog sat with the future president and treasurer of ASLC, Dith Pamp and Gabe Montes de Oca, respectively, to discuss the upcoming year and learn a little bit about them. See what they have to say.
April 16According to Shelby Campbell (’13), the Ravine Academy “has everyone who is the coolest.” Beyond that? The group is blessed with some epic talent, including some ballin’ rap and beatbox skills which are fronted by females in the group (refer back to Campbell’s comment).

March 12For Lewis & Clark’s Associate Director of Health and Wellness Melissa Osmond, the Jan. 12 earthquake in Haiti and its subsequent, tragic aftermath hits especially close to home.
Osmond, who has a masters degree in Public Health with a focus in International Health, spent over a year in Haiti from 2002 to 2003, just before coming to LC, as a requirement for her degree program.
March 5Campus Safety officers Rob Maisonet and Tim Burgard both enjoy working out, but any cop stereotypes end there.
March 5As we pulled up to the dingy looking bar, my friend stared out the window at the two dirty, piss-drunk old guys chain-smoking cigarettes outside the front door.
“Wouldn’t it be funny if we were going in there?” he asked, chuckling.
“We are,” I said.

February 26Chatroulette is a three-month-old social website that randomly pairs strangers on webcams with others from around the world to engage in text and/or audio chat. Created by a 17-year-old from Moscow, Chatroulette is reminiscent of Omegle.com, a text-only stranger chat website created last March by a Vermont teen.

February 19For their first two years of Lewis & Clark life, students are required to set up fort in one of the many dorms on campus. They’re all seemingly different at first glance but when it comes down to it, every room is a plainly furnished, off-white cube that we are forced to call home. Homey dorm touches are essential for making the on-campus years more tolerable.
February 19Attached to the Bread and Ink Café in the Hawthorne district, you can find one of breakfast’s best keep secrets: The Waffle Window.
February 12On a surprisingly pleasant Monday afternoon I ventured downtown to Kenny and Zuke’s Delicatessen, on the corner of 11th and Stark, in search of the perfect Reuben. I was lead to this deli by the buzz that has surrounded it as a result of author and deli expert David Sax’s fondness for its in-house smoked meats and fresh baked bread.
