Portland Arts & Lectures brings numerous prominent artists and authors to the city every year to discuss their work. On Sept. 23 the series continues with a conversation between Margaret Atwood and Ursula K. Le Guin of their work and its role in contemporary culture.
A sundry of Pioneers, both students and members of the greater community, braved Sept. 7’s wet weather and made their way to Miller 105, where artist Alison Saar discussed her work. A reception and showcase of her exhibition followed in the Hoffman Gallery of Contemporary Art.

Fans of “The Office” know and love Dwight Shrute as the ridiculous, awkward, beet-farming paper salesman of coworkers’ nightmares, but four members of the Lewis & Clark Interfaith group got to see a different side of Shrute last Tuesday, when the character’s actor Rainn Wilson stopped by Oregon Health & Science University to lecture on his Baha’i faith.
