On March 18, 2013, eight members of the Class of 2013 presented speeches in the annual Senior Speaker Competition. Elias Brockman was chosen Senior Speaker by the selection committee. With the permission of each senior speaker who competed, their speeches were recorded and will be made available on this site by early April, 2013. -
Founded in 2010 by Lydia Aimone ’13 and Morgan Deters ’13, the 20-member Swing and Ballroom Dance club will offer its first-ever feature-length performance on Friday evening. -
Lewis & Clark media studies professor Bryan Sebok has his students making a documentary called Cartlandia, about diversity in Portland’s food cart scene.

Too much of a good thing
Sure, “Portlandia” is just a TV show, Sebok says. But sometimes life does start imitating art, even after the art has disappeared from the airwaves. And there’s something to be said for building on an established brand name. “It says something about what we’re up to,” Sebok says of the name choice. “We’re playing with the mythical nature of local identity.” -
Cappella Nova, one of three choral groups on campus, will be traveling to Egypt this May for its first international tour in more than 30 years. -
