2012-13 KLC Board Positions

General Board Requirements:

- mandatory monthly meetings

- KLC office hours

Job Descriptions:

New Music Coordinator

KLC wants to be the #1 location for Pioneer students to get their new music! Our new music coordinator is in charge of finding new music to show to the DJs each week. Furthermore, the new music coordinator will be in charge of organizing the CDs that are sent to KLC from different record labels, artists, etc. They will also help organize and set up the KLC New Music Blog.

 

Portland Outreach & Advertising Coordinator

The Portland Outreach & Advertising Coordinator will be in charge of putting the KLC name into the community. This includes, but is not limited to, finding events in Portland that we can help to sponsor or attend; having the DJs create posters for their shows that can be placed around campus; etc. This position will also work closely with the Events/Concerts Coordinator to better advertise KLC events.

 

Events/Concerts Coordinator

KLC will be working with CAB and other groups to put together many shows this year. The Events Coordinator will be the top-dog in charge of all the details of the event. Organizing monthly shows with school bands and local Portland-based bands will be their main job. They will also work with the Sunburn Coordinator to put together the show in April.

 

Sunburn Coordinator

This position will work closely with the Manager, the Events/Concerts Coordinator, the Advertising Coordinator, and CAB to put together our biggest event of the year: Sunburn! This person will be in charge of contacting bands, organizing concert details, and putting together signs, T-shirts and the like. This position’s work load will be relatively light during the first semester, but very busy during second semester. This position may also acquire other jobs and tasks as they present themselves.

 

Recording Studio Coordinator

The KLC Recording Studio was established in 2011. Relatively new, the studio is a prime location for student bands to record their own music! This position requires a knowledge of recording software (Logic 9) and technology. A flexible and open schedule is preferable as you will be working with student bands and their schedules. Furthermore, you will need to be able to edit the pieces together and have a quick turn around time. We will also want to record KLC Promo spots using the studio as well.

 

Cave Organizer

KLC has quite the assortment of CDs. It will be up to this person to organize the CDs that are in the studio and in the Cave. Furthermore, when we receive CDs, this person will be in charge of organizing the CDs that KLC receives (working with the New Music Coordinator).

 

Sports Broadcast Coordinator

A new position, KLC is working to expand its broadcasting. We plan on having the equipment to broadcast from various locations, including the major sports games on campus. It is preferred that a person in this position has previous KLC or other radio experience (especially with portable broadcasting).
