One important part of the symposium is an art exhibit of work from community members from Lewis & Clark and beyond. The 43rd Annual Gender Studies Symposium art exhibit encourages viewers to reflect on their own and others’ experiences around gender and digital technology.
This year’s exhibit includes a physical gallery in the Watzek Library atrium and an online gallery.

Zoom Changes - SSO & Account Provisioning
Starting this spring, IT will integrate Single Sign On (SSO) and Zoom. This process will also automatically provision Zoom licenses to Lewis & Clark accounts logging into Zoom for the first time. Staff and faculty employees will get Pro Zoom licenses, students will receive basic licenses with the option to request a Pro license.
Entrepreneurial Thinking, Networking, and Pitching on Display at Winterim 2024
In mid-January, the Bates Center for Entrepreneurship and Leadership hosted its annual entrepreneurial workshop, known as Winterim. The event brought 29 students to campus prior to the start of spring semester for a week of learning, networking, and mentoring, which culminated in a pitch competition for $13,000 in prizes.

Strengthen Narrative Competency with Narrative Scribe Training
With support from the Mellon Foundation, Northwest Narrative Medicine Collaborative (NWNMC) is developing Narrative Scribe Training.
The curriculum builds on narrative medicine practices of listening and witnessing. The training develops skills of listening deeply to stories of health, illness, and healing and reflecting on how listening and witnessing can contribute to social change. Narrative Scribe Training will be held in-person on-campus at Lewis & Clark College on Saturday, February, 24 and registration is now open.

Winterim 2024
Applications are now open for limited spots in the Bates Center’s flagship program Winterim which features 60 speakers, mentors and judges for 30 students in a fast-paced week that culminates in a pitch competition with $8,000 of cash prizes.
No prior entrepreneurial experience is required or expected. Priority deadline is November 15.
Join us from January 7 - 12, 2024.
