Subsidized Tickets to the World Affairs Council International Speaker Series
Every year the World Affairs Council of Oregon’s International Speaker Series features prominent national and international figures who address the most significant issues of our time. ASLC is proud to announce that this year it will be offering subsidized tickets for currently enrolled LC students to attend events in the series. Tickets through ASLC will cost $5 per lecture, which is an outstanding price for the opportunity to see these highly well-known and respected experts in international issues. There is a limited number of subsidized tickets available; to reserve yours, email CRC@lclark.edu with your name, student ID number, and to which event(s) you would like a ticket. Each student can reserve no more than two total tickets, and they will be allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis (via email).
This year’s series includes:
February 3, 2012 | Politics and Principles
Jim Lehrer (Journalist/News Anchor)
March 11, 2012 | Economics, Ethics & Justice
Amartya Sen, (Nobel Laureate Economist)
March 27, 2012 | Inside the American Mind
David Brooks (Columnist, New York Times)
April 27, 2012 | The Question of Afghanistan
Dr. Sima Samar (Director, Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission)
All events are held at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall and begin at 7 p.m. More information about the series can be found at www.worldoregon.org.
