Associated Students of Lewis & Clark (ASLC)
New York Times Crossword Puzzle Competition
Monday, April 19 - Friday, April 23, 2010
Competition Details
- Full-time undergraduate students may enter the competition in teams of two or as individuals (everyone will compete in the same pool).
- Proctored sessions will take place on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 3-4:30pm & 6-7:30pm. Teams will get 1.5 hours to work on a past NYT puzzle.
- A team’s top two puzzles will be used for cumulative scoring, with points awarded based on the number of correct clues.
- As per the scoring scheme in (4), a team need not complete a puzzle all three days; however, chances of scoring higher are increased if all three days’ puzzles are attempted.
- The puzzles will correspond with the day on which they are given; so the puzzle given on Monday will be a Monday NYT puzzle, etc.
- The 3 teams/individuals with the most points will be awarded Visa cash gift cards: 1st place-$100 each; 2nd place-$50 each; 3rd place-$25 each. At least the top 10 teams/individuals will receive crossword puzzle books.
- Notification of team status and other pertinent details will be communicated via email from the Community Relations Coordinator at CRC@lclark.edu. Questions can be directed to this email.
