Meet Your Leaders

  • Anya Jacquez

    Anya is from Ontario, CA, a small suburban city just outside of Los Angeles. She is a first-generation college student majoring in Biology and minoring in Computer Science. With a strong passion for biology that began in the fourth grade, she also dedicates her life to racing sailboats throughout the Pacific Northwest and admiring dogs of every shape and size. She aspires to do marine biology research internationally following graduation.

  • Sarai Miranda

    I am a first generation student from Los Angeles, California. I am currently a rising junior majoring in Chemistry.  I am part of Gente Latina Unida (GLU), a student union dedicated to providing an open space for Latino students.  In my spare time I like going out into the city to explore and watching movies. 

    Soy una estudiante de primera generación de Los Ángeles, California. Estoy terminando mi segundo año en una carrera de química. Soy parte de la unión estudiantil Gente Latina Unida, conocida como GLU, que se enfoca en proveer un espacio abierto para estudiantes latinos. En mi tiempo libre me gusta salir a explorar la ciudad de Portland y también ver películas.

  • Asia Wooten

    Asia is a rising junior from Eugene, Oregon. She is a first generation college student majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. She’s also very involved in the music department and has played the piano for the past 16 years. Asia likes to spend her breaks volunteering in the NICU and has shadowed local Pediatricians. She is a huge Grey’s Anatomy fan and is excited to pursue a career as a Pediatrician.
