Fir Acres Workshop
Exploring Women’s Writing
Since the summer of 1994, some participants at Fir Acres have opted to join a workshop group devoted to exploring women’s writing.
By considering what women writers have had to say about themselves, their lives, and their world, this group focuses on women’s experiences.
What does it mean—and what has it meant—to be a woman writer, and how shall we talk about women’s varied writing? How can we best appreciate the unique contributions of individual women poets, fictionists, and essayists? Do women have a common experience that unites writers of different times and varying social and political contexts?
