Environmental Student Groups at Lewis & Clark
Students have many opportunities to get involved with organizations and groups around campus. The following are some groups that are related to Environmental Studies and Lewis & Clark, including student liaison information.
Lewis & Clark’s student-run cooperative is a unique community that promotes a sense of student ownership, empowerment, and connectedness to Lewis & Clark, Portland, and globe.
Student Symposium Chairs for 2011: Zach Holz, Julia Huggins, Micah Leinbach
Each October, ENVS hosts a student-led symposium on current topics in Environmental Studies. Though not technically a “group,” this annual event held on campus requires a great deal of student involvement to be successful. See the symposium homepage for more information.
Lewis & Clark’s annual journal for students of all ages and all disciplines to come together and participate in celebrating our natural surroundings and to become part of the discussion about our environmental impact.
Student Liaison for 2011-12: Michelle Tynan
The Student Academic Affairs Board (SAAB) is a unique part of your student government, the Associated Students of Lewis & Clark (ASLC).
Student Liaisons for 2011-12: Miriam Coe, Anna Daggett, Lucy Roberts
A student-run Lewis & Clark organization, SEED is dedicated to 1) environmental stewardship at local, regional and global levels and 2) organization, education and engagement of the campus community through environmental activism.
The Lewis & Clark Sustainability Council (LCSC) is a group of students, faculty and staff drawn from the College of Arts and Sciences, Law School, and Graduate School of Education and Counseling. We support deep learning, vigorous exchange, wise planning, and effective action dedicated to sustaining the things we value as a community. The goal of the LCSC is to promote sustainability using a “triple-bottom-line” or “three-legged stool approach,” emphasizing how economic, social, and ecological factors come together at Lewis & Clark.
