Katherine Fitzgibbon Receives DAAD Grant

The Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst (DAAD)- the German Academic Exchange Service- has awarded Katherine Fitzgibbon, Assistant Professor of Music, a Research Visit grant. This award will allow Dr. Fitzgibbon to conduct research in archives in Berlin, Munich, and Kiel that hold scores and correspondences related to German requiems commissioned by the Reich Music Chamber and Hitler youth. The expected results of this research include an article and ultimately the final chapter of Dr. Fitzgibbon’s book manuscript in progress. (February 2012)
