Registration Information for Continuing Students
March 5 through April 2: Registration advising period.
You must meet with your academic advisor to obtain approval to register for your 2012 Fall courses.
April 3 through April 12 : Fall 2012 Registration
- April 3 - 6: First round of registration. Continuing students will register for one class during the first round. Check your registration appointments online through WebAdvisor. Juniors register on Tuesday, followed by Sophomores and Freshmen on Wednesday and Thursday respectively.
- April 10 - 12: Second round of registration. Continuing students can complete their registration for a full schedule. Juniors register on Tuesday, followed by Sophomores and Freshmen on Wednesday and Thursday respectively.
- April 13 through August 17: Online Registration remains open for students to make changes to their spring schedules. Please note that there may be some limitations to online registration beginning in June.
Note: All students who have earned 61 or more credits and who have NOT declared a major must do so in order to be able to register. Complete the Major/Minor Declaration form.
BEFORE BEGINNING THE REGISTRATION PROCESS
1. Check WebAdvisor for Registration Permissions
You will need:
- Advisor approval to register
- Instructor consent for specific sections that require special permission. (See #5 below.)
Confirmation of these approvals will appear in the Registration Permissions area of WebAdvisor.
2. Check WebAdvisor for My Holds/Restrictions
- Check for holds which may prevent registration and address them before Registration begins.

4. Check that Prerequisites have been met with Transfer Credit
- If you have transfer credit that should meet the prerequisite for a course, you can submit the Prerequisite Substitute/Consent form to our Degree Audit and Transfer Credit Coordinators. Please note that official documentation of the coursework must be on file in the Registrar’s office in order to have credit awarded.
- If your notification and documentation are received before your registration appointment, and the transfer credit has been awarded, you will be able to register for the course online during your assigned appointment time.

5. Obtain Prerequisites Substitute or Consent needed to register for a course
- You may submit a completed Prerequisites Met By Transfer Credit form to the Registrar’s Office.
- In place of the form, we will also accept an email from the instructor specifying that you have his/her consent to register for the specific section.
If we receive consent before your registration appointment, you will be able to register for this course online during your assigned time.
6. THE FOLLOWING MAY BE DONE ONLY IN PERSON AND ONLY DURING THE FIRST TWO WEEKS OF THE SEMESTER (ADD/DROP PERIOD):
- Change the grading option for a graded course to credit/no credit.
Note: courses used to fulfill a gen-ed requirement may NOT be taken as credit/no credit. -
OVERLOAD (Register for more than 19 credits).
Note: a student must have an L&C GPA of 3.0 or better and the consent of their adviser to overload. First Year students should not overload their first semester.
