Reunion Weekend Schedule
This page is being updated regularly with Alumni College sessions and other information.
Campus sports and exercise facilities will be open throughout the weekend. Visit this page for descriptions and planned hours.
Thursday, June 20 |
12:00-9:00pm - Check-In, residence halls and apartments open
Get your registration materials, room keys and access cards. Settle in and take advantage of this time to enjoy campus and the neighborhood.
1:00-6:00pm - Alumni Winery Tours and Tastings
Join fellow alumni for small group tours to a couple alumni wineries in the beautiful Willamette Valley. Two or three small groups will each go to two different wineries (Elk Cove and either Rex Hill or The Dobbs Estate) for a tour and tasting. Transportation, tasting fees, snacks, and refreshments are covered by the fee. The tour departs from and returns to campus. The trips will return in time for campus dinner. Please note deadline to register: May 20.

Enjoy your first meal on campus.
6:00-7:30pm - CLASS OF 1963 REUNION RECEPTION
Kick off your Golden Reunion festivities over hors d’oeuvres and drinks.
Friday, June 21 |
7:00am-9:00pm - Check-In, residence halls and apartments open
Pick up your registration materials, a full schedule of events, keys and access cards if you are staying on campus, maps, and anything else you may need.
8:00-10:00am - Campus Breakfast
Have breakfast with classmates before enjoying the rest of the events this day.
11:00am - COLLEGE OUTDOORS Reunion Lunch and Hikes
Meet off-campus for lunch and a lecture by Kenneth Clifton, associate professor of biology, “Seeing Pattern in Nature: A Biologist’s Perspective on Enhancing Your Outdoor Experiences.”
Then, choose one of two hike options:
- The more strenuous 4T hike (trail, tram, trolley, train) with Director of College Outdoors Joe Yuska. Urban hike, expected to take 3.5 hours Appropriate for children ages 12 and up.
- An interpretive hike of flora on the Wildwood Trail with Associate Professor of Biology Ken Clifton. Less strenuous. Appropriate for children ages 12. and up. ~1.5 hours.
11:00am-1:30pm - ALBANY SOCIETY BASH/REUNION KICK-OFF LUNCH AND BIG BAND DANCE
Everybody is invited to this special event in honor of the 60th Reunion of the Class of 1953 and featuring the induction of the Class of 1963 to the Albany Society. Join us for a big band dance following the lunch program.

- Stephen Beckham, professor emeritus of History - Changes in the Land: Impacts on the Oregon Environmental Over the Past 200 Years.

Dinah Dodds, professor emerita of German - East German Women and the Fall of the Wall.
3:00-3:45pm - Alumni College Session II
- Amy Dvorak, Sustainability Manager, and Gabe Bishop, Grounds Supervisor - Grounds and Landscape Seminar and Tour of Sustainability Initiatives.
- Rich Peck, professor emeritus of International Affairs - Sucking the Juice out of Life.
- Michael Iannantuano, Facilities Services - Tour of the Underground L&C Tunnels (yes, they really exist!). Tour is limited to 10 people first-come first-served. Tours run at 3 p.m. and ~3:15 p.m. (tours repeat on Saturday morning)
3:00-4:30pm - Alumni and Community Choir First Rehearsal
Second rehearsal on Saturday 10-11:30. The Choir will perform at the Northwest Salmon Bake and BBQ, and feature a longer performance at the 1:30 p.m. Alumni College on Saturday.
4:00-4:45pm - Alumni College Session III
- Deborah Heath, associate professor of Anthropology and Amber Case ‘08, Director at Esri, will host a cyborg anthropology roundtable. Details TBA. Please join us after the roundtable for an L&C Entrepreneurs reception.
5:00-6:00pm - L&C Entrepreneurs Reception
If you started a business or took a risk, or are interested in meeting alumni who have, stop by, mingle, make new connections, and learn about the plans for launching the Lewis & Clark Entrepreneurship Center.
5:00-7:00pm - Campus Dinner
Enjoy a delicious meal on campus.
5:00-7:30pm - COLLEGE OUTDOORS Open House, Social and Dinner
Get the VIP tour of the CO equipment facility! Then, join past trip leaders, staff, students, and Director of College Outdoors Joe Yuska (who has been at L&C since 1986!) for dinner to celebrate the program and the hundreds (thousands?) of students who have benefited from the wonderful trips and activities.
5:30-7:30pm - CLASS OF 1963 DINNER and CLASS PHOTO
Enjoy a special reunion dinner in honor of your Golden Reunion.
Cooley House, the President’s Home. Shuttle service at 5:00 p.m.

Celebrate the 40 years it’s been since graduation with your friends and loved ones.

Can you believe it’s been 30 years? Catch up with your classmates and introduce them to your family at this special dinner.

Your 25th reunion is here! Enjoy drinks and hors d’oeuvres at this reception.
7:00-8:30pm - CLASS OF 1993 REUNION RECEPTION
Begin the weekend’s reunion festivities at a reception over hors d’oeuvres and drinks.
7:30-9:00pm - CLASS OF 2003 REUNION RECEPTION
Celebrate your 10th reunion at a reception over drinks and hors d’oeuvres.
7:30-9:00pm - CLASS OF 2008 REUNION RECEPTION
Celebrate your first class reunion at this reception with hors d’oeuvres and drinks.
9:00-10:00 - Historical Ghost Tour of the Corbett House (time tentative)
Join Campus Safety Officer Nick Mobley for a tour that will cover the history of the Corbett House, a historical property that was previously part of the Franciscan Sisters’ Our Lady of Angels Convent. After experiencing some interesting encounters checking the building at night as part of his safety officer duties, Nick has researched the history of the building, and has some spooky stories to tell. Be ready for supernatural encounters and hearing stories about the resident ghosts!Tour begins in the Corbett House front room (see bottom of this map to find Corbett). Please note, this tour will involve some stairs and walking.

8:30-9:15am - Reunion Fun Run/Walk/Jog
All ages welcome at this fun run/walk/jog around campus. Who has the most orange and black Pio spirit? You can purchase an L&C shirt when you register for Reunion. Note: if you want a shirt the deadline to register is May 20.
9:30-10:30am - Tryon Creek State Park Hike
The hike is an easy one so all ages are welcome. Explore the beautiful natural area right next to campus and maybe you’ll see a pair of the pileated woodpeckers that live there, or spy some of the other wildlife that permeate the park.
10:00-11:30am - Alumni and Community Choir Second Rehearsal

11:45am-1:30pm - ALL-CLASS NORTHWEST SALMON BAKE AND BBQ and PRESIDENT’S WELCOME
Join classmates, families, friends, faculty, staff, and alumni from throughout the Portland area for this famous annual event, featuring a traditional salmon bake prepared by the Charley family of the Warm Springs Tribe. The family caught all of the salmon, and will cook it over a fire pit filled with cedar logs on campus. Delicious Pacific Northwest BBQ staples - burgers, hot dogs, veggie burgers, sides, and gourmet additions, will also be available. Live performances will entertain you while you enjoy delicious Northwest fare and drinks. Hear from members of the national Board of Alumni, President of Lewis & Clark, and sing the alma mater with the Alumni Choir.
1:00-6:00pm - PIO CARNIVAL
A great time for kids and adults alike! Activities/booths include a Scavenger Hunt, live music, Lewis & Clark Expedition Photo Booth, Frisbee, cornhole and other lawn games, s’mores roast, cotton candy, and more!
1:30-2:15pm - Alumni College Session VI

A special tour of the Frank Manor House with Donna Lawrence ‘52. See the Manor House through the eyes of someone who lived there during her first two years at L&C. Hear about the fire escape that helped tardy students arrive to class on time, the smoking parlor, living in the servant’s quarters, and much more! Meet in the Manor House foyer. Please note this tour will include going up and down stairs.

Join us to mingle and to learn about the Alumni of Color Advisory Board and L&C’s efforts to build and promote diversity on campus.

- Doug Erickson, Head of Special Collections and College Archivist - William Stafford’s Legacy at Lewis & Clark. Enjoy a presentation by Doug, a tour of the archives, and Q&A with library staff. William Stafford’s 100th birthday is coming up in January 2014.

Alumni readers and participants will join with Dean of Religious and Spiritual Life Mark Duntley in leading worship. The theme is “Home is Where the Heart Is.” Kay Healy-Wedsworth ‘63 will play the organ at this service, accompanying Aaron Keating ‘93.
11:00am-2:00pm - REUNIONS OF OVERSEAS AND OFF-CAMPUS PROGRAMS
Join friends for this special lunch. Different overseas and off-campus program reunions are gathering at different times. Make sure to double-check when your group is gathering here starting in February.

1:00pm - Fraternities, Sororities, and Friends Reunion
Fraternity brothers and little sisters, and sorority sisters from all eras and all fraternities/sororities are welcome to attend this lunch event. We will enjoy camaraderie and memories over a meal on campus.
This event is organized by alumni from the 70’s but alumni from all years are welcome to join in the fun!
