Richard Woolworth ‘63

Richard Woolworth is chair and chief executive officer of The Regence Group, the largest affiliation of Blue Cross and/or Blue Shield companies in the western United States. Woolworth is also a board chair of Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon and Regence HMO Oregon.

A director of Columbia Mutual Funds and NW Natural and board chair of United Way of the Columbia-Willamette, Woolworth is also immediate past chair of the Oregon Business Council and of the National Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association. He is also past chair of the Portland Chamber of Commerce and regional fund drives for United Way and the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.

Woolworth, a certified public accountant, has served as a trustee of Lewis & Clark College for ten years.

He and his wife, Sheila, have three children and five grandchildren.
