Alumni & Parent Programs

Regional Chapters

What exactly is a chapter?

All the alumni that live in a particular geographic area, usually centered around a major city, are members of the alumni chapter. The chapter is lead by several alumni who communicate regularly with the office of Alumni & Parent Programs about the needs and wants of alumni, host social events, and get to know the alumni in their area.

Currently we do not have a lot of active chapters. We hope this will change as we get to know more and more alumni in different states and cities and persuade them to take on a leadership position within the chapter. Are you interested? Fill out the form below.

Why have chapter leadership?

Chapter leadership provides ideas for events and programs, and hosts social events during the year (alumni happy hours, for example). Without chapter leadership, the office of Alumni & Parent Programs may not have the best idea about what events and programs alumni in a particular area want. In addition, it usually is not possible for staff from the office to travel to a particular area more than once a twice a year, so chapter leadership helps ensure that alumni get connected with each other year-round and not just when staff is in town.

If you are interested in becoming a chapter chair, or have questions, please contact the office: alumni@lclark.edu, 503.768.7950, or fill out the form at the bottom of this page.
