She also holds a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology. Back in academics at Lewis & Clark, Amelia is whole-heartedly loving it. “I love teaching at Lewis & Clark and am delighted to say that the department is full of wonderful faculty, and our students are every bit as wonderful as we all say you are.  I am having a great time!”

While at Lewis & Clark, she took part in student government, the organized lecture series, and the Israel overseas study program, starting a lifelong passion for travel; her family is headed to Italy this summer. As an alumna, she has volunteered with the L&C Network, the Alumni Choir, and has assisted the admissions department.

Amelia is a  second generation Pioneer and a  fourth generation Portlander. Her father graduated in ’54 and she is one of six in her family who graduated from Lewis & Clark.  She was the Board of Alumni president from 2009-11.  She is a former assistant clinical professor of psychiatry in the School of Medicine at the University of California at San Francisco, former member of the medical staff at San Francisco General Hospital, and former attending psychologist on the Department of Psychiatry Consultation and Liaison Service and the Neuropsychology Service at San Francisco General Hospital.

Amelia’s father, John Wilcox ’54, established the Susan Wilcox Memorial Scholarship Fund for students in English in memory of his wife. Amelia’s brother, James Wilcox ’85, is a graduate of the College as are her uncle, Fred Wilcox ’57 and cousins, Kim Singer ’71 and Susan Singer ’74. She is married to Jim Mol. Their daughter, Phoebe, was born in 1998.
