Hometown: San Antonio, Texas born and bred.

Favorite spot on campus: The third-floor conference room of J.R. Howard Hall.  I have spent many days and nights there studying or in meetings formerly as a student and now as a staff member.  On a clear day, you have an unobstructed view of Mt. Hood to the east.

Little-known fact about me: I was a vegetarian for 2 years.

Piece of advice for students in the college search process: Prioritize what is important to you for college.  Is it location? The size of a school? An academic discipline?  And don’t hesitate to bring up your college search with family and friends.  They might have suggestions of schools you have never heard of before that could be a perfect fit for you.

Favorite place to spend time in Portland: Northwest Portland has become a personal favorite of mine since moving there.  There are many fabulous restaurants and entertainment options in that area.  Cinema 21 on NW 21st always has interesting movies showing and just down the road from there is Jeld-Wen Field where our MLS team, the Portland Timbers, play.

If I was stranded on a desert island, I would want these three things: My ipod, skillet, and a basketball.

If I didn’t work in Admissions, I would be: Working towards a second degree in something.  I guess I am what you would call a life-long learner, and would have to surround myself in education of some kind.
