English and Theatre
The overall atmosphere is by far my favorite thing about LC. My favorite class has been something entirely outside of my major—I loved Chinese Art History with Professor Dawn Odell. Although I loved English 205 and Acting 1, there was just something about this class that was special, and (while rigorous) really enjoyable.
I love walking around campus, talking with pretty much anyone, writing poetry, listening to music (Bob Dylan, Philip Glass, Haley Bonar, Sigur Ros, and Max Richter are some of my favorites), yoga, building fires and drinking tea. My extracurriculars are all things Theatre (Including the phenomenal “Once Upon a Weekend”), and the LC Literary Review. For my overseas program I intend to go to Scotland next fall (2010).
My advice to prospective students would be to accept the fact that every school will have students telling you it is the best—all you can do is find somewhere you feel at home and will benefit from academically. Also, if you come to LC, go on a College Outdoors trip. You will not regret it by any means.
