First Year Application Checklist

Fall Semester: First-Year
Early Action (nonbinding)

Fall 2009: 1,126 applied, 74%
Application deadline: November 1
Admission decision notification: January 1
Admitted student deposit deadline: May 1

Fall Semester: First-Year
Regular Decision

Fall 2009: 4,216 applied, 58% admitted
Application deadline: February 1
Admission decision notification: by April 1
Admitted students deposit deadline: May 1

Transfer Admission

Fall 2009: 305 applied, 47% admitted
Transfer application deadline: There is no set application deadline for transfer students applying for fall semester. We evaluate applications on a rolling basis until the transfer class is full. Applicants for spring semester must submit all credentials by November 1.

Admission decision notification: within three weeks of file completion

Note: Transfer applicants are encouraged to submit credentials to us as soon as possible to ensure a smooth transition to Lewis & Clark. Late spring and summer applicants may find that the transfer class has been filled, or that financial aid resources and housing options are limited. Please note that the priority filing deadline for financial aid is February 15.

Spring Semester

Spring 2009: 37 applied, 40% admitted
Application deadline: November 1
Admission decision notification: within three weeks of file completion
Admitted students deposit deadline: December 4

Communication With Our Office

We expect that you will serve as primary author and contact throughout the admission process. You will receive frequent communication from the admissions office via e-mail. Please make certain that the e-mail address you provide is accurate and checked frequently. In addition, you will be able to check the status of your file online; we will send you a letter containing instructions and a PIN upon receipt of your application. If you do not submit an e-mail address, communication will be via mail.
