What has been your favorite class so far? How did it expand your knowledge?

Introduction to Sociology with Assistant Professor Maryann Bylander has been my favorite class so far. I discovered a more informed lens through which to see the world.

What made you want to come to Lewis & Clark?

I wanted to come to Lewis & Clark because I really want to study abroad and the overseas program here is excellent. After visiting, I felt at home on campus and loved the swim team. When I saw how much L&C is committed to helping their students succeed, I knew that I wanted to be a student here.

How do you balance athletics and academics?

Time management is key. At the beginning of each semester I schedule out my classes, workouts, and my professor’s office hours so I know when I can get work done, while saving time for relaxing breaks. My coaches and professors help so much too. They are very supportive and ready to assist me with any problems.

What’s your favorite spot on campus?

My favorite spot on campus is the reflecting pool, looking out toward Mount Hood.

Best L&C memory so far?

My favorite Lewis & Clark memory so far is the Inclusion and Multicultural Engagement Leadership Retreat. It was so much fun meeting new people and learning how everyone can be a leader.

How do you manage stress?

To manage stress, I like to go outside and just appreciate how beautiful our campus is. Plus, going on a walk clears my head and always prepares me to get work done.

Do you have a job? How do you work that into your schedule?

I worked in the Financial Aid Office. I was able to fit it into my schedule by using the time management calendar I had made for myself earlier in the year.
