Samuel Hernandez JD ’10 was elected president of Region XVI of the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA), encompassing Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington. His two-year term began in September 2018.

Samuel Hernandez JD ’10 was honored by the Hispanic Metropolitan Chamber with its Leadership Award for his actions to support the advancement of Latino business, students, and community in Oregon and Southwest Washington.

Samuel Hernandez JD ’10 has prepared for a yearlong tour in Afghanistan. Hernandez serves as a light infantry company commander in the Oregon Army National Guard and has been an associate for the past two years at Barran Lieberman, which the U.S. Department of Defense has honored with a Patriot Award for their wide-ranging support of Hernandez and his deployment. He is also one of four Portland lawyers to receive a 2014 Oregon State Bar Litigation Section Rising Litigator Award.
