Why I’m basically awesome: I’ve been working in the SLS office since my first year and it’s been a great way to develop my collaborative leadership skills, potential career plans, and commitment to service in my life. I also have had the opportunity to be a long term volunteer with SMART (Start Making a Reader Today), which is a wonderful mentorship & literacy program that seeks to instill a love of reading in children kindergarten-third grade in undeserved public schools in the area. Learning about Portland through service has been a meaningful and defining aspect of my time at Lewis & Clark.
SLS initiatives: I coordinate and participate in a weekly volunteer project through SMART, produce the weekly SLS newsletter, facilitate weekly staff meetings & more.
Strengths: Empathy, Input, Learner, Arranger, and Developer
