Bacchus Men’s Ultimate Frisbee

Bacchus Team 2022 Bacchus Team 2022

Bacchus Ultimate frisbee is the open division ultimate frisbee team at Lewis and Clark college in Portland Oregon. Bacchus emerged as a program in the year 2000 and has developed into one of LC’s largest club organizations, with students from many different backgrounds. Bacchus has made multiple appearances at the DIII national championships (2006, 2008, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016 [placed 3rd], 2023) and has goals to continue their presence as a competitive college team in DIII. While the team consists of many players and coaches who compete at the elite level outside of Bacchus, on various club and pro teams such as Portland Rhino Slam, Portland Nitro and Portland Hive, Bacchus welcomes students of all experience levels into its community. During the fall season, practices and tournaments are primarily dedicated towards individual skill development, teaching of the game and team community building. During the spring season, the team travels to tournaments around the country to compete at the highest level. The team also hosts many events all throughout the school year with our partner team in the women’s division, Artemis. The embracing community of the ultimate frisbee teams goes much further than frisbee for the majority of its members and keeps alumni of over to 20 years involved. Bacchus and Artemis’ annual players vs alumni games take place under the lights of Griswold stadium every spring and bring together generations of friends from every corner of the ultimate frisbee scene in Portland. For new students interested in checking out frisbee at Lewis and Clark, come to the all welcome NSO game on the first Sunday of the school year. For any inquiries at all about the team or how to join Bacchus, feel more than welcome to email us. We can’t wait to hear from you!
