PE/A 101 - Pilates
Taught by: Suzanne Brauer
Content: Pilates is basically a functional center core conditioning work-out, with the added benefits of muscular/strength/endurance and flexibility. It takes effort, energy, and enthusiasm, so there may be a cardiovascular/respiratory stimulus.
This course is designed to appeal to all levels…athletes, fitness fanatics, recreational enthusiasts, and the general population seeking to explore this trend…along with those individuals who have chronic issues resulting from muscular-skeletal conditions and past injuries…and those individuals who are currently rehabbing injuries…or those who are seeking a passive stretching and strengthening type of exercise program.
This course will focus on the Pilates Method of training the mind and body to work together as an integrated unit. The Pilates Mat Exercises demonstrate that the body is the only piece of equipment needed to achieve physical fitness.
