BIO 107 - Field Paleontology of Oregon
Taught by: Ben Crabtree
Content: Survey of fossil forms of organisms with emphasis on animals and evaluation of the diversity of known taxa. Introduction to field paleontological methods and procedures with a focus on the study of the local fauna over geologic time. Lecture, laboratory, and field trips (including two to three weekend trips). A course fee covering a portion of the field trip expenses will apply.
This course satisfies the Scientific and Quantitative Reasoning - Category A: Science Laboratory requirement.
Prerequisites: None.
Semester Credits: 4
Course Fee: $150
Meeting Times: WF 4:30-6:30 p.m., Labs Fridays (May 18 and June 22) 6:30-10:30 p.m.
Required Field Trips: 1 day trip (June 10), 2 weekend trips (May 25-28 and June 1-3), 2 required lab meetings (May 18 and June 22)
