  Hispanic Heritage Month is September 15-October 15, 2010. Join the Lewis & Clark community in the conversation and celebration!

Film Showing: “La Misma Luna” (Under The Same Moon)
Director Patricia Riggen tells a story about family ties, immigration, and its impact on the family.

Wednesday, September 29 :: 4:00-5:30pm in Thayer
Public Lecture: “Viva el dia de Los Muertos” (The Day of the Dead Comes Alive) with Irene Vasquez, Ph.D.
Dr. Vasquez is a professor, professional storyteller, writer and cultural activist. She will present on the Mexican holiday of El Dia de Los Muertos as celebrated in Mexico and North America.

Wednesday, October 6 :: 7:00-9:00pm in Council Chamber
Theater Production: “American Sueño” (The American Dream) by Teatro Milagro/Miracle Theater Group
A bilingual original production about four individuals with marginalized identities in the U.S. pursuing the American Dream.

Wednesday, October 13 :: 4:00-5-30pm in Thayer
Public Lecture: “The Hispanic Experience in Oregon” with
Erlinda Gonzales-Berry and Steven W. Bender.
Hear two leading authors, scholars and public officials present talks on the Hispanic history and experience in Oregon.

Food & Celebration: “Hispanic Heritage Night In The Bon”
Enjoy signature traditional dishes from Latin and Hispanic culture and a live Mariachi performance.

The Spanish Club hosts a dance party with a band performance led by our very own Lewis & Clark professor of Latin American Literature, Freddy Vilches
