SOAN 201 - Quantitative Research Methods

Content: The survey research process, including hypothesis formation and testing, research design, construction and application of random sampling procedures, measurement validity and reliability, data analysis and interpretation. Philosophical roots and ethical considerations of survey research methods.
Prerequisite: Sociology/Anthropology 100 or 110; or consent of instructor.
Semester Credits: 4
Meeting Times: MTWTh 3:30-5:30
Note: This class helps to fulfill the Quantitative Methodology requirements for the Sociology and Anthropology, Political Science, International Affairs, and Communication majors at Lewis & Clark College. It also satisfies the Scientific & Quantitative Reasoning: Category C General Education requirement.
