This past week Lishka Havel (’10) competed in the NWC Multi-Event Championships and left the meet with a third place in the women’s heptathlon. It was a two day event and Havel racked up 4066 points overall.
“I am extremely excited about not only placing third, but by falling only 34 points shy of national quaifying provisional mark, especially on my first year, and most of the competitors were veterans,” said Havel.
The events that Havel participated in include: 100-meter hurdles, shot put, high jump, 200-meter, long jump, javelin, and the 800-meter.
Havel managed a personal record in the 800-meter, 200-meter and javelin. Her finish in the 800 meter was the key to finishing third.
“I now have the regular conference meet to look forward to with the rest of the team,” Havel said.
