The Regular Season Ends on a High Note

The Forensics squad at Lewis & Clark College participated in three national championship tournaments to conclude its season.
In Lubbock, TX, four teams competed at the National Parliamentary Debate Association National Tournament. The team of Hannah Tierney and Ramya Ramesh advanced to Octafinals, losing on a 3-2 decision to eventual National Champions Texas Tech. Neil Hilton and Ben Tyson advanced to Triple Octafinals. The other two teams–Pamela Garman and Halah Ilias, and Joe Hykan and Maia Sakredse–finished prelims with 4-4 records. The squad earned 9th place in the Tournament Sweepstakes and 19th for Season Sweepstakes. Hannah Tierney was named an NPDA All-American.
In Eau Claire, WI, Elle Olson competed in five individual speaking events at the American Forensics Association National Individual Events Tournament. Elle was also named the AFA-NIET District II Student Representative.
In Los Angeles, CA, Hannah Tierney and Ben Tyson received a second-round bid to the National Parliamentary Tournament of Excellence. Ramya Ramesh and Neil Hilton also received bids to the tournament.
The season has concluded. The next tournament will be the Northwest Parliamentary Debate Warm-Up in Seattle, WA on Sept. 25-26.
