Why do you give to the college?

I’m a big believer in liberal education, especially this enterprise right here on Palatine Hill. We guide students as they figure out who they are and discover their life’s passions. It’s important work.

What do you like most about Lewis & Clark?

I like our bright and inquisitive students and our beautiful campus.

What would your colleagues be surprised to learn about you?

I took swing dancing lessons this winter.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I love doing outdoor activities with friends and my 9-year-old son, particularly backpacking, cross-country skiing, ski mountaineering, trail running, and windsurfing. I also like hanging out in coffee shops and reading.

Please share your favorite book and/or your favorite travel destination.

I’ve recently been hooked on Karl Ove Knausgard’s autobiographical novels. My favorite trips of all time have involved bike touring in Europe.
