Visiting Assistant Professor of Sociology Position

The Lewis & Clark College Department of Sociology and Anthropology invites applications for a position as Visiting Assistant Professor of Sociology for the 2018-2019 academic year. ABD or Ph.D. status, and prior teaching experience, are required at the time of appointment. The teaching load for the year will be four courses, one in the fall and three in the spring. The fall class will be `Introduction to Sociology. One of the spring classes will also be `Introduction to Sociology’ and the two others will depend on the expertise of the applicant.
Applications should be submitted electronically at https://secure.interfolio.com/apply/49742 and should include (1) a curriculum vita; (2) a letter of application (addressed to Jennifer Hubbert, Chair), which includes a statement of educational philosophy, teaching experience, and research interests; (3) evidence of teaching effectiveness; (4) sample syllabi for introductory and topics courses; (5) two letters of recommendation sent under separate cover; and (6) graduate transcripts. Review of applications will begin on June 30, 2018 and continue until the position is filled.
