LC Day of Giving March 15: Now Includes All Three Schools
March 08, 2017
Day of Giving is back, and this year all three schools are participating! Beginning at 12:01 a.m., Wednesday, March 15, we have 24 hours to secure 2,000 gifts from alumni, parents, friends, students, faculty, and staff. When we do, we will secure an additional $100,000 match from generous donors.
Last year, staff and faculty were an integral part of the day’s success – they made 232 gifts, a great show of support for LC students! This year, like last, we have some generous matches from our campus community to inspire staff and faculty.
Members of the Executive Council will match all gifts from CAS, Grad, and Law staff dollar for dollar.
Interim President David Ellis and Jeanne Ellis have pledged $1,000 to the Shannon O’Leary Fund when 200 faculty and/or staff from the CAS give.
Dean of the Graduate School Scott Fletcher has pledged to match gifts from Graduate faculty up to $1,000, and from Graduate staff up to an additional $1,000. The Graduate School is aiming for 100 percent staff and faculty participation!
Dean of Students Anna Gonzalez has pledged
- $500 to the Diversity Fund when 500 students give.
- $500 to the Annual Fund when 60 percent of full-time student life employees give.
Dean of the Law School Jennifer Johnson has pledged $1,000 to the Law School’s Annual Fund after 50 gifts are made to the Law School.
Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences Catherine Kodat has pledged $1,000 to the Diversity Fund and $1,000 to the Shannon O’Leary Fund if 100 CAS tenure track/tenured faculty give
Director of Physical Education and Athletics Shana Levine has pledged:
- $500 when 50% of student-athletes give
- $750 when 75% of student-athletes give
- $1,000 when 100% of student-athletes give
Assistant Professor with Term of Psychology Amelia Wilcox has pledged $1,500 when 100% of senior lecturers, faculty with term, and instructors with long-standing connections with the college give.
Members of the Board of Trustees and an anonymous law school donor have generously agreed to sponsor the $100,000 challenge.
Once you’ve made your gift, post to Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram at #LCDayofGiving. If you post a photo of yourself, your pet or your child in Pio gear or black and orange, you’ll be entered to win a $100 gift card. You may also email it to email@example.com, and we’ll post it for you. Download a temporary profile picture here and help spread the word!
How do I give?
Visit the Day of Giving page or stop by our tables on campus outside of Fields Dining Hall 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., or JR Howard Hall and Watzek Library 10-3 p.m., Pamplin Athletic Center 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., or on the Graduate Campus in York from noon-5 p.m. Make a gift online on Wednesday, March 15 here.
If I make a recurring monthly gift will it count toward the gift total?
Yes. And, if you choose to make an additional gift, it will be counted a second time, helping us to reach our 2,000 gift goal.
Where does the money go?
To the annual fund, unless otherwise specified. The annual fund allows us to support our areas of greatest need.
If I give to an area other than the annual fund, will it count?
Any gift to any fund on March 15 will count toward the goal.
