We are excited to announce that beginning in Fall 2015, we will be offering a new FRENCH STUDIES MINOR as an option for students interested in pursuing advanced studies in French at Lewis and Clark College. As with all of our language majors and minors, students may begin earning credit for the minor after completing four semesters of French language study (FREN 202).

The French Studies Minor would require a minimum of 20 semester credits (5 courses) beyond FREN 202, chosen among the following:

FREN 301: French Composition and Conversation

FREN 321: Introduction to French Literary Studies

FREN 330: Francophone Literature

FREN 340: French Literature and Society

FREN 350: Topics in French and Francophone Literature

FREN 410: Major Periods in French Literature (requires instructor approval)

FREN 450: Special Topics (requires instructor approval)

Students may apply 12 credits (3 courses) to the minor from Overseas Study in Strasbourg, France, or Dakar, Senegal programs.
