Apply for Spring Semester Housing
October 13, 2017
Cost & Availability
Room rent in the residence halls is $3,364/semester and $3,839/semester for a single room. Rent in the apartments is $4,323 for the semester. If you have not already submitted a Lease Agreement for the campus apartments, please be aware that we already have a lengthy waiting list so space for new applicants will be extremely limited. (You are only eligible to apply for the apartments if you have completed the four semester residency requirement, or are 21 years of age at the beginning of Spring semester, January 15, 2018.) A traditional meal plan is required if you live on campus. You may choose from four different plans. See “General Info” on the right side bar for pricing and explanations. If you are awarded a campus apartment, you would be eligible for the Flex Only meal plan. If you have completed the four semester residency requirement you are also eligible for either the 50 Block or 100 Block meal plans.
We anticipate that a substantial number of rooms will be available in the residence halls, including some single occupancy rooms. We do not anticipate being able to award many double/singles for Spring 2018. However if you wish to let us know of your desire for a double/single and your intention to pay for it, you may download the Double/Single Application and send it along with your completed Residence Hall Contract. Double/singles ($500-550 additional rent for the semester) will only be awarded after final occupancy is established circa January 30, 2018. You will need Acrobat Reader to download the forms.
For a complete application for a residence hall room, you will need to complete a:
1) 2017-18 Residence Hall Contract, (marked for “Spring Only”) - REQUIRED
2) Roommate Preference Sheet - REQUIRED
3) Living-Learning Community Application if you want to be considered for an LLC. - OPTIONAL Application is community specific.
4) Mid-Year Single Room Request form if you wish to apply for a single room. - OPTIONAL
Then, send the forms to the Office of Campus Living with your deposit of $200 to apply for a room. Our address is: Office of Campus Living, MSC 132, Lewis & Clark College, 0615 SW Palatine Hill Rd., Portland, OR 97219.
How to Apply for Spring Semester Housing
If you are OVERSEAS or on LEAVE OF ABSENCE during Fall semester, you should complete a housing contract (or lease) and return it to the Office of Campus Living by mail or fax (503-768-7977) no later than Friday, November 10, 2017 for priority consideration. You’ll need a $200 deposit on your student account before we can process your request for housing. Please note that if you have not already submitted a Lease Agreement for the apartments, space is extremely limited for Spring semester.
Since you will not be on campus to represent yourself during the room assignment process, the Campus Living staff will rely on the written information you provide through your contract, roommate preference sheet or other written communication.
If your contract is received after November 10th, you will be assigned on a space available basis. NOTE: It is possible that you have already filed a housing contract or lease for Spring semester. If that is the case, you don’t need to do anything more at this point. If you’d like to check the status of your housing request just email email@example.com and we can let you know what we have on file.
The residence hall contract and lease agreement are legally binding documents, so please read them carefully before signing. Students returning to campus who have not yet completed four semesters of campus residency MUST complete a housing contract. Remember the College requires that you live on campus for four consecutive semesters (even if you have junior standing).
Assignment Notification & Hall Opening
We will email your housing assignment and the name of your roommate/s to your LC email address early in December. If you prefer, you may email firstname.lastname@example.org to get your room assignment anytime after December 8, 2017.

The first meal served in brunch on Sunday, January 14 and Spring semester classes begin Tuesday, January 16, 2018. The residence halls close on Friday, May 4th at 3pm for all non-graduating students.
