RACC grant to support Resonance Ensemble production

Associate Professor of Music Katherine Fitzgibbon recently received an Artistic Focus Project Grant from the Regional Arts & Culture Council (RACC).

Associate Professor of Music, Music Department Chair, Director of Choral Activities, and Artistic Director of Resonance Ensemble Katherine Fitzgibbon recently received an Artistic Focus Project Grant from the Regional Arts & Culture Council (RACC). The funds from RACC will support Resonance Ensemble’s June 2015 production of “War and Peace”. This production will close the 2014-15 season, which contains, as the Ensemble describes  “… some of the most moving repertoire written for voices in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries”. “War & Peace” joins Schenberg’s stirring 1907 masterpiece “Friede auf Erden” (Peace on Earth) and Poulenc’s “Figure Humaine” (The Human Face), a devastating 1945 work composed in secret and smuggled out of occupied France to receive its premiere in England.

More about Dr. Fitzgibbon’s scholarly and creative work is available here.
