Pios Start Strong at PLU Debates

The Lewis & Clark Forensics Team opened the year with a strong performance at the Pacific Lutheran University Debates. The Pios had three debate teams qualify for the elimination rounds in open division. Two teams–Alex Beck and Pamela Garman (both juniors) and seniors Neil Hilton and Ramya Ramesh–won elimination debates before both fell in the octafinal round. Seniors Hannah Tierney and Ben Tyson advanced to the semi-finals of the tournament.

Additionally, Tierney was 5th speaker, Ramesh was 6th speaker, and Tyson was 17th out of 90+ individual speakers.

The next tournament for the Pios will be the Steve Hunt Classic, hosted on the Lewis & Clark College campus, October 9-11.
