Conferences, events keep campus busy throughout summer

Even during the summer months Lewis & Clark remains an active place, thanks in large part to the Office of Conferences and Events. From Nike Swim Camp to Forensics Debate Camp, visitors from Oregon and beyond will head to campus to make use of our classrooms, athletic facilities, and outdoor spaces.
One campus guest that fits well with Lewis & Clark’s ethos of sustainability is FoodCorps, an organization that spreads knowledge about how food is grown and what it can do for bodies and minds. The organization also supports school gardens and aims to instill young people with a healthy relationship to food.
“FoodCorps came to Lewis & Clark for many reasons, one being our dining service—Bon Appétit. Like FoodCorps, Bon Appétit is committed to mindful food consumption and supporting community gardens and farms,” said Danielle Caldwell, Associate Director of Conferences and Events. “The organization is also connected to campus through Kathleen Yetman BA ’07, who serves as a FoodCorps Fellow, and Jessica Polledri, a graduate student and FoodCorps Service Member.”
Producing these events takes the collective work of many, and Lewis & Clark students are an invaluable part of the process. Learn more about the role they play as summer guest services agents.
