Big summer events coming to campus

The Conferences and Events Office is pleased to announce several large events coming to Lewis & Clark this summer.

The Conferences and Events Office is pleased to announce several large events coming to Lewis & Clark this summer. These events showcase the campus to future students, supporters, and the Portland Business Community.  They bring in revenue that aids in our mission of educating young people. We ask that you welcome these groups warmly when they are on campus.

Near the end of July we will host our first large event: The Human Rights Campaign Gala will take place in the Estate Gardens on Saturday, July 27.  Founded in 1980, HRC is the largest civil rights organization working to achieve equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Americans. The Human Rights Campaign represents a force of more than 1.5 million members and supporters nationwide. Guest speakers for this event will include an Academy Award winning Director and US Senator Jeff Merkley.

In August things will pick up and you will see events such as the Albany Society BBQ (a group of L&C Alumni), the Lakewood Performing Arts Center Reception, the Collins View Neighborhood Picnic, the M Financial Dinner, and a couple of lovely weddings. These events are well considered and should not create major disruptions to the L&C community.  There may be slight adjustments in parking and the outdoor pool schedule.

The Office of Conferences and Events is very excited about the opportunity to build our circle of friends and supporters. We have worked hard to bring these groups to campus.  Please join us in our endeavor to showcase the College and create future partners.
