Over the course of 10 weeks, the students studied black history, gentrification, and identity by viewing documentaries, reading texts, hearing from guest speakers, and participating in field trips. They then learned basic video production skills from Lindstrom. The resulting six-minute film highlights their aspirations and resilience.

Known for his films Alien Boy: The Life and Death of James Chasse and Finding Normal, Lindstrom has produced many short and feature-length documentaries, focusing primarily on addiction, mental disability, and at-risk youth.
