-As You Like it (Act II Sc v)
Two young women embark on an adventure and are never the same. Shakespeare’s As You Like It is a play about the shifting faces of love, as two young women of the court leave everything they know only to discover themselves. To do so they must transgress notions of gender and decorum, align themselves with beggars and clowns and take charge of their own destinies. This production of Shakespeare’s pastoral romp through the forest of Arden will use contemporary performance techniques to excavate the play’s relationship to the audience. Using music, dance and a physical relationship to text, As You Like It, will re-imagine Shakespeare for a contemporary audience.
