President’s Award for Outstanding Community Service: Call for Nominations

Do you know an outstanding junior or senior that has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to community service? Nominate them for the President’s Award for Outstanding Community Service!

Do you know an outstanding junior or senior that has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to community service? Nominate them for the President’s Award for Outstanding Community Service! Students, faculty, and staff may nominate seniors for this prestigious award.

The following criteria will be used in determining a recipient of this award:

1.    The student must be a Lewis & Clark senior with a strong academic record

2.    The student must demonstrate a commitment to servant leadership through on-going direct and indirect service to the Lewis & Clark and greater-Portland communities

3.    The student should champion, through direct and indirect service, one or more of the following issues below; AND, demonstrate a critical understanding
of both the symptoms and roots causes of the issues championed:

•    Food and Hunger Issues
•    Homelessness
•    Education: Children and Youth
•    Healthcare
•    Senior Citizen Assistance and Advocacy
•    Civil Rights, Human Rights, and Social Justice
•    Environmental Sustainability and Education
•    Political Activism
•    Special Needs Youth and Adults

4.    The student must inspire and motivate other Lewis & Clark students to become actively involved in both the campus and greater-Portland communities.
