Overview:

Since 2006, the Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) began a tradition of recognizing a College of Arts & Sciences (CAS) faculty, LC professional staff member and CAS junior or senior for their contributions to the campus community. In that spirit, we ask that you nominate people for the following 2013 Multicultural “Impact Awards”. You may nominate more than one person for each award.

NOMINATIONS ARE DUE BY 5PM ON THURSDAY MARCH 21, 2013.You may nominate ONLINE or by sending your nominations to multicultural@lclark.edu.

1. RAY WARREN LEADERSHIP AWARD
This award will be given to a graduating senior who exemplifies the spirit and determination of founding director Ray Warren, and who best fits the following criteria:

• Is engaged in the Lewis & Clark or Greater Portland community
• Demonstrates leadership in the area of diversity on campus through dedication to programming and student groups within Multicultural Affairs
• Possesses a spirit of determination, care, open-mindedness, and optimism
• Creates a welcoming community for new underrepresented students
• (students of color, GLBTQ, first generation, students of faith) at Lewis & Clark

2. IMPACT AWARD FOR FACULTY
This award will be given to the faculty member who best fits the following criteria:

• Contributes to the advancement of a more diverse learning environment
• Provides opportunities for diverse perspectives in her/his curriculum
• Serves as a mentor to underrepresented students on campus
• Encourages other faculty to support diversity and multiculturalism at the College

3. INAUGURAL “KRISTI WILLIAMS” IMPACT AWARD FOR PROFESSIONAL STAFF MEMBER 

The KRISTI WILLIAMS IMPACT AWARD is given to staff member or administrator who best demonstrates a commitment to supporting diverse students through the following criteria:

• Serves as a mentor to underrepresented students on campus
• Goes beyond the call of duty to support the academic and personal success of underrepresented students at the College
• Encourages their colleagues to support diverse cultural experiences and perspectives at the College
• Creates a welcoming community for new underrepresented students (students of color, GLBTQ, first generation, students of faith) at Lewis & Clark

All staff with the exception of full-time staff in the Office of Multicultural Affairs are eligible for this award.

The Impact Awards will be presented at the Multicultural Affairs Banquet on Tuesday, April 2, 2013.
