Lloyd Babler is the president and chair of Babler Brothers, a family-owned general contracting firm founded by his father and uncle. The firm, which has several subsidiaries, is involved in highway construction and paving and supplies fabricated metal products, concrete pipe, and other building materials throughout the Northwest.

The firm, which has several subsidiaries, is involved in highway construction and paving and supplies fabricated metal products, concrete pipe, and other building materials throughout the Northwest.

A native Oregonian, Babler served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He spent 42 months at sea, mainly in East Asian waters. He returned to the United States and earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

In 1977 and again in 1981, Babler was appointed to the board of commissioners of the Port of Portland.

Babler served as member of the Lewis & Clark College Board of Trustees from 1993 until 2002 and is now a Life Trustee. He and his wife, Patti, are frequent visitors to the campus and staunch supporters of the College. Additionally, they support the Portland Art Museum, the Boys and Girls Clubs, and CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates).

Lloyd and Patti have been married for fifty years and have three children, Megan Babler Canton ’93, Heidi, and Christopher.
