Content: Through watching and analyzing ethnographic films, we will explore debates about representation and authorship in anthropology. Students will have an opportunity to create an ethnographic photo essay or video essay as part of this course.
Generic Catalog Description for SOAN110: The concept of culture and its use in exploring systems of meanings and values through which people orient and interpret their experience. The nature of ethnographic writing and interpretation.
