H/D +Projects is proud to present Sever by Katherine Groesbeck Part art installation and part performance, Sever creates a whimsical space occupied by players delineating between memory and nostalgia, reality and nonentity.

“I will not merely say that this story is true: because, as you will soon see, it is all truth and no story. It has no explanation and no conclusion; it is, like most of the other things we encounter in life, a fragment of something else which would be intensely exciting if it were not too large to be seen.” -G.K. Chesterton, The Secret of a Train

Groesbeck’s installation creates a tension between our perception of the present and her recollection of a past, amplifying the important signifiers while other information is left out. The characters in her work perform tasks of a surreal nature to create a complex and illusory experience.
