I wanted to do something fun for my final project, so I chose to make the game Lingo: a computer-based rendition of one of my favorite game shows. If you’re familiar with mastermind, you’ll find Lingo to be a word-based spinoff of the classic game we all know and love.

Lingo works by asking the player to guess a 5-letter word. After each guess, the computer tells you which of the five letters were correctly placed, which were misplaced but do appear in the secret word, and which letters you guessed were completely wrong. The player uses this information to get to the secret word in under five guesses, or else the other team takes control and gets a bonus letter!
