Reconciling the Science and Economics of Climate Change
In the face of dire predictions from scientists, the international community has officially endorsed a policy that would require cuts in global warming pollution of around 80% by 2050. At the same time, speaking for an influential group of economists, William Nordhaus has argued that the best climate policy would be to allow greenhouse emissions to grow by 25% over the same period. former Lewis & Clark College professor Eban Goodstein, now Director of the Bard Center for Environmental Policy, will discuss the basis for this disagreement and ways to move forward on attacking global warming.
